Lily on first day rescue.
These two cuties I found one morning in our front yard while feeding Walter. I startled the Momma kitty and she took off as soon as I stepped outside. I just happened to look over at our bushes along the house and noticed these two looking pretty rough. They were scared but being so young and now alone they backed themselves up along our house and fence so I was able to catch them very easily. As you can see from the first photos in the lineup they were very young (about 3.5 weeks) and not in good health.
Our super amazing vet fit them in and we were able to address their health needs right away. We did the eye drops 3x a day, antibiotics daily, flea control, and a mix of kitten wet food and kitten replacement milk. It only took one day of antibiotics, eye drops, and a gentle cleaning around their eyes for them to start showing improvement. Fast forward a couple days and you couldn't even tell they were ever sick and they quickly began to flourish.
You might recognize their names from the movie Jungle Cruise and yes we do love that movie but more importantly their personalities of the brother and sister in that movie were pretty spot on. Lily has been fearless since the get go, she is definitely the type to jump first and figure it out on the way down (which has been such a joy to watch). She took to both me and my husband instantly. MacGregor was pretty shy and took the whole experience at a much slower pace. At first he was not too keen on being held, even a sniff of your hand was required before petting so he wouldn't get scared. He would watch our hands closely and study Lily as she interacted with us. Lily was always more than happy to lick, play, purr, and even ball up in our hands. Fast forward a little over a week into the rescue and his personality really began to shine. He is feisty, playful, and loves being pet/held with no sniff first required. He is a such an adorable little gentleman, now we just need to get him a dinner jacket (cause what is dinner without a dinner jacket?).
